1. Crypto-Anchors-

Crypto-anchors and blockchain combined can go against counterfeiters. Fraudulent acts cost the global economy more than six hundred billion dollars every year. By using Crypto-anchors, it can make things complicated for the unethical users. To prove authenticity IBM has developed tamper-proof digital fingerprints on the products and linked them to the blockchain. In the crypto-anchor, there is a special optical device and AI algorithms combined to identify the structure and labels to verify the authenticity of the product. The first ever model of the crypto-anchor will be available in the next 18 months.

  1. Quantum Computing-

At present the quantum computing in the researcher ground. Within the next five years, it will help the new categories of professionals and the developer to solve problems which were once considered unsolvable. Quantum computing will be implemented in Universities where they teach the students how to run practical experiments on the quantum computing through the cloud. Quantum computing can lead to the creation of novel materials and the discovery of more efficient and sustainable energy sources. Soon, you can see the quantum computer will be used alongside a classical computer to solve problems.

  1. Hacking-

The new lattice cryptography will stop the hackers from hacking our systems. A new security method built on lattice cryptography is being developed by IBM which can hide data inside lattice, a complex algebraic structure. In math, the lattice can present problems that are very hard to solve. By using this difficulty, it is useful for the cryptographers to apply them to protect information even if the hackers possess quantum computing. The lattice cryptography has fully homomorphic encryption which can help credit reporting agencies to help and produce credit scores without the need to decrypting the personal data.

  1. AI Bias-

IBM researches are trying to find a way to ensure human bias does not affect AI. They are using computational cognitive modeling into the machines that apply human values and principles in the decision making which can avoid bias and discrimination. IBM has developed AI algorithms to decrease bias in training data by learning from the previous data which has been recognized to be discriminatory.

  1. AI Microscopes-

To save our polluted oceans, the IBM has developed an AI-powered robot microscope. Around 2025 more than half of the world’s population will be living in water-deprived areas. It is hard for the scientist to find relevant data to prevent this, even by using specialized sensors. IBM is building a small AI-powered robot microscope to monitor plankton and to understand the plankton behavior better, how they are responding to the environmental changes, and to predict possible threats, etc. They have certain chips that capture the plankton to generate a digital view of its health without the need for focusing.
